Hi all, Sorry if this has been posted before but I did try and search for an answer to my question!

We have an LDK-20 phone system that intermittently has issues. When we come into the office in the morning we regularly sit there thinking 'The phones are very quiet this morning!' I then go to call the office using my mobile and all I get is a beeping line. I then switch off the LDK-20 for a minute or so then switch back on, and all is working fine.
It has done it for a few years now but it is getting rather intolerable now! Has anyone got any idea of what could be causing this problem? The system uses a netgear adsl modem (which we have changed to see if that fixes the problem) that connects to a dedicated adsl line. The SIP etc. is provided by BT.

I did think about doing a software update on the box to see if anything changed, but I could not find the relevant PC ADMIN software for our firmware version.
Our version is UK66P-C.7Ee MAR/08

If anyone can help that would be great.

Thanks

Plugged the lines back in, and you do not get a dial tone at all on lines 5-8.
I wonder if these were our old lines before we had SIP. But just plugged them into the system for fun?

It now says access denied on everyone's phone.

Sounds like the line is disabled.
LINE 05 RELEASED - would mean that there is no connection and the system closed the line off (ie: Line not plugged in at wall socket)
ACCESS DENY - Line is disabled by Admin extention. PGM 073 from memory should bring up outgoing CO Line access.

You'd need to program the Lines 5-8 keys, but you have CO PGM disabled in Admin programming.

Not to worry though, unless you want to fiddle about and investigate your Lines 5-8

If they are already disabled then I think I will leave them.

As for the unable to hold an incoming call issue, is that an error in the settings or is the ldk-20 on its last legs?

I did have a look through the programming manual but it does not say anything about enabling it etc. It just says it should hold the call, system or exclusive depending what your settings are.

Try these changing these settings:

In PGM 222 (digit modification table) - DELETE the entry on Index 2 - 01493
In PGM 141/2/3/6 CO Attributes ISDN-1 - DID CONV to 0
And set MOH to Internal Music on Line 09-10

See if this helps you any ?

Rememeber - if things suddenly stop working, you can restore the settings by reloading your backup that you sent to me

I have changed everything apart from: In PGM 141/2/3/6 CO Attributes ISDN-1 - DID CONV to 0

When I do this, no one can call in. You just get a solid beep tone. I also tried DID CONV to 1, same results.
And most importantly, we still cannot hold an incoming call.

I wonder if something has gone wrong in the system... Maybe the LDK-20 is on its last legs ? :( I'm at a loss

did digit conv needs to be 2.That will get your calls ringing in again.

montyzummer - Yes I reverted the setting back to two. All is working again.

2311angel - Thanks for all of your help over the last few days. But I think its time to put the LDK-20 to rest!

Have you tried assigning a loop key to your sets , there used to be a funky issue that hold was affected if no loop keys where assigned?

montyzummer - Can you provide a bit of a walkthrough how to do this?

I have a laptop hooked up with PC Admin as I find it a bit easier to use. Plus the main admin phone is in another office!

Sorry I wasn't able to be of much help in the end. Best of luck, and I hope it goes well for you!

its in station programming pgm 115 then assign button type 4 (loop) to a spare key on your sets , on analogue sets keys 1&2 need to be loops.

I think that may be set up already? On my phone I have flex key 1 & 2 setup with 'lines'
When you press either, it comes up with LCR MODE and then I dial a number.

I will check it out on pc admin though..

Yes, PGM 115 shows that flex keys 1-2 are {LOOP}

ok what exactly happens when you try and hold a call ??

Have you got a back up of the database???

you mentioned that you recently upgraded did you int by mpb to the version you are on pgm 452

Have you tried to soft reset the system ??

When we press hold, it says line holding, and the handset has a dial tone. How ever, on the customers phone, they can still hear everything. Like it has not been put on hold.

Yes, I backed up the database, updated the firmware and uploaded the database back into the software. We are unsure how long it has been doing this hold issue, as a customer has only just told us.
We are 100% certain the phone display never used to say DID: 0149 during a call though.

Yes we have restarted the system,
