LDK-20 freezing up

Hi all,

I've had my LDK-20 running happily for a good year or two now, but there is suddenly a problem that I have no idea how to combat.
It randomly freezes up. The activity lights on the LAN ports continue to blink (on the VOIM and LANU), but there is no dial tone, and the system lights inside that normally flicker to indicate the system working suddenly freeze.

I suspect it is a hardware related cause, as I ordered a replacement KSU, but the problem manifested on that system as well, immediately after setting it up.
I have experienced this problem on different firmwares, and to ensure it is not a corrupted programming file, I have defaulted both systems, and re-keyed them by hand!!

As you can see in the video - the time is stopped on the time that the system locks up. Upon resetting the system, it shows the correct time and date.

Any help on pinpointing the cause of the freezing would be gratefully received!

Hello,
I too have had the same problem on 20's. The issue was so widespread we stopped selling them.
This is a common issue on the analogue version, not that common with KSUB's.
I believe it was a batch issue with the power supplies on the later versions having defective components. The easiest was to resolve this possibly is to swap out the PSU with one from an early version CCU.
Alternatively you could fit a refurbished version 3 Nexer, these never go wrong and are compatible with LKD 7000 range handsets.

Hmmm - the only problem with that is that I've not seen the Nexer in Australia before! Any idea where to source one from ?

Hello Angel,
The Nexer was also known as the LDK 24. You should be able to pick one up on ebay and have it shipped. Failing that a UK refurbished system dealer would definately be able to help.
Do have any product details for the Nexer?
