LDAP authentication

Hi, I have a web server, running ubuntu 6.06.1 apache2, and I would like to give access to some LDAP/AD groups. This would be done over the local network. So the people would just map a network drive on their windows machines and have access to do certain things if they are part of a group that is allowed to work on the server.

How can I handle this? What's the best way to proceed?
