I am trying to set up external authentication using MS Active Directory for remote user tunnels on a contivity 2700. I seem to be failing the Bind DN authentication. The system logs on the contivity says "Invalid credentials". I am using a generic account on the AD that was created specifically for this purpose. The confusing part is, if I use the acct that is authenticating users to our 2500 it works. The purpose of all this is to migrate off that old acct and to the 2700. The syntax for the Bind DN appears correct. Is there anything special about the user acct used to bind? Does it need certain privledges within AD?

I have the document "LDAP Proxy using Microsoft Active Directory" from Nortel's site and I followed the instructions, but still can't get it to work. Does the Bind DN account have to have any special permissions on the AD side?
