Hi.

I have a system where customer if possible would like to use LDAP/Active Directory Auth. when logging in to there MiCollab Client.
System is MiCollab Client Server 7.3.0.103. The Ldap connections is ok and working. Can this be done with this software?

Yes but the customers Active Directory must support Secure Authentication

You can configure Active Directory Authentication to allow MiCollab-IDS users to use their directory server credentials (domain name and password) to log into the following MiCollab end-user interfaces:

The following conditions apply:
[ul]
[li]IDS Integration must be configured (enabled) on MiCollab.[/li]
[li]Synchronization is required for Authentication in MiVoice Business integrations.[/li]
[li]Do not enable Authentication only in MiVoice Business integrations.[/li]
[li]Periodic synchronizations must be enabled.[/li]
[li]Active Directory authentication is only supported across a single directory service domain.[/li]
[li]The MiCollab domain must be distinguishable from the directory server domain.[/li]
[li]Active Directory authentication is only supported for MiCollab user interfaces; it's not supported for administration interfaces (for example, MiCollab server manager). Also, it is not supported for MiVoice Business user interfaces (for example the MiVoice Business Desktop Programming Tool).[/li]
[li]If Active Directory authentication is configured, users cannot log in with their MiCollab user names and passwords. They must use their directory server credentials.[/li]
[li]Users of the MiCollab End User portal or MiCollab Clients (Desktop Client,Web Client, PC Client, Mobile Client and the Web portal page) cannot change their Active Directory (AD) password. See Change Password Restrictions.[/li]
[li]If connectivity to the directory server is lost, then users will not be able to log into the MiCollab clients. The user credentials are not cached in MiCollab.[/li]
[li]Active Directory v3 authentication is supported.[/li]
[li]If a user does not enter a directory server domain, the system attempts to log the user into the interface using the MiCollab domain.[/li]
[li]To support Active Directory authentication, a MiCollab user must have his or her IDS Manageable option enabled and must be paired with an entry in the directory server. These users will have their password options in the MiCollab applications disabled.[/li]
[li]If you disable the IDS manageable option for a user, Active Directory authentication will cease to function for that user. You must reset the user’s password from the USP application. Then send a Welcome E-mail to the user to inform him or her of the password change.[/li]
[li]SMB port 445 must be open from the MSL Server to the SMB File Server.[/li]
[/ul]

Hi, on above a agree but on MiCollab Client Server 7.3.0.103 i do not find every field i need to be able to fix above. Must be some differnce on software. This customer has license for a stand alone MiCollab server.
the ldap sync section looks like this. (se atteched picture)

Use the help files built into your server

I dont think you can use authentication unless its a micollab server ( not micollab client)

you could migrate licenses from standalone ( micollab client) to a Micollab server but would need a base license for the Micollab

not sure if thats free for this situation ( i seem to remember that there was a free base micollab server available at some stage)
Eng guidelines confirms it , micollab client ( standalone UCA server) cant support authentication

Micolab client on Micollab server(mas) can support it - must be in intergated mode)

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Yes found the same thing. Thanks all.
