I've looked here and done quite a bit of searching trying to figure this out, and maybe I'm missing something really simple, but my brain has been racked for quite a while now.

I have a 19-page booklet I'm trying to make, and have actually made quite a bit of it before I realized I might be doing it wrong.

You know, when you open a book the pages go 1, 2, 3, etc., but if you were to rip out one "page" you would get like page 1 and page 2, and the on the other side it would be page 18 and page 19 or something similar (sorry my description skills are lacking too).

Anyways I just wondered how to set up a document so that it will print out this way. I have 8.5x5.5 pages, so two pages per 8.5x11. It will be bound in the middle with a staple, like any little booklet or such. Thanks for help in advance!

You can use InBooklet if you have CS2. It's in the File Menu. See the help menu for how tos on making your imposed printed spreads.

You cannot make a book from a 19-page document. The page numbers must be divisible to a whole integer by 4.

Add a page before using InBooklet.

If you do not have CS2, there are free scripts on the user exchange on adobe.com

Thanks for the quick responses. My mistake on saying 19 pages. It actually is 20 pages, the cover page doesn't have a page number. Checking out InBooklet and have tried printing a quick proof but it didn't turn out how I thought it would, I'll look into it further. Thanks!

Ok, so when I do the preview with InBooklet everything seems to look like it will be fine, but when I print it (and this is not on a professional printer, just an office one), only half of each page is used for print on most of the pages, but four of the pages print things on each side, and the cover page is actually missing.

Do you have the right paper size chosen when you print? In InBooklet, did you choose to print directly or make a new document? If you printed directly, you'll need to make sure you have "Spreads" checked when printing.
