Layers with Tables???

Is there any reason why we cannot use a table format to set the style of a page, and then have a layer with a timeline sort of floating in position over the top?
For target audience reasons, I wanted to use tables, but you can only work a timeline in a layer.
Any advice would be appreciated!

You can do that. I do it myself. Just make sure the layer is indeed floating over the top and not nested in a table.

Thanks for that! Just needed a bit of reassurance as I am doing a course on DW4 and am using tables and layers for my exam site! Didn't want to get a FAIL!!
