Does anyone have a working layer three switching config they would be willing share? I have a layer three central switch, with 9 layer two satellite switches and I am attempting to utilize multiple vlans. I cannot seem to get the vlans to communicate with each other. I can see the packets get to the layer three device and it appears that they are not being routed. The central switch is a 6509 and the satellite switches are 3524 catalysts running at layer 2.

What address are your devices using for a default gateway, and where exactly in the network are those addresses configured?

They are using my ISA server IP as the gateway. We are a small business so it is just one pipe out. I have IP'd the vlans on the individual catalyst switches

So you need to trunk all VLANs to your server and create a VLAN interface for each VLAN on it and ensure it is configured for routing.

Or, make the default gateway for each subnet the router address on that subnet's VLAN interface on the layer-3 switch.
