Launch Excel File from Lotus Notes Problem

Every time one of our users tries to launch an Excel file from Lotus Notes, he gets an error message saying "Unable to locate program". Excel opens but no document is loaded.

It only happens on the one computer as well - if he goes to another it is fine.

I've tried reinstalling both Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office. I've tried going to Start -> Run -> excel /unregserver and then excel /regserver as suggested somewhere on microsoft.com. This didn't work.

The computer is running Windows NT4 SP6a, Microsoft Office 97 SR2 and Lotus Notes 4.6.

I've done all the usual of reapplying service packs as well.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Use Win2K right now, so I forget what NT looks like. Anyway, this should be close....

Open Windows Explorer, go to View,Options, select the File Type tab, locate the entry for Excel Worksheet, select it, then select Edit (or Advanced, whatever the case)

In the Actions window, click on Open, then click on Edit.

Under the "DDE Message" box, it should read:
[open("%1")]

If not add it and try again.

"Mind is like a parachute. Works well when opened."

Got it sorted - I just had to delete his profile and let it be recreated.
