I have users complain that they receive e-mails with a few hours delay.....(e-mail that was send in the 7AM gets to their mailbox at 11AM)
When I check the IMS queues only the :eek:utbound messages waiting delivery" has information the rest are clear....

I would appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Check wht mails they are talking about.
Try to see if it is always to/from the same domain and/or user.
It may be a slow ISP or server somewhere down that route.

Ok, if it is receiving only, you don't have any control over it. You may want to check with your ISP then to see if they can monitor it for a while.

A15,

I had a similar problem in a customer location.
To isolate the problem a couple of things were tried
out.

1. Created a test account say bounce@ourcompany.com
which will give an autoreply for every email it
received.
Sent about 10 test emails to this test account ,
and numbered in the subject 1,2 3 etc just
to distinguish them. Test emails were
sent from another domain like yahoo or hotmail.

This will check 1 round trip for an email
and if all is well with your exchange server.
This should be repeated at various times of the
day to determine if there is a pattern.

A15,

I have recently experienced the same problem with external emails on my Exchange 5.5 server. Internal mail was not affected.
The pattern I noticed was that emails with attachments were being delayed. Further investigation seems to point the finger at an ISP (the other users') that has recently started using some kind of anti-virus/anti-spam software on their servers.

Regards
