I am setting up a network of assorted Win95/98 workstations with a Win2K server. The user login bat files work except for the last line of the net use statements. It doesn't matter whether there are four or five shares, the last one doesn't map, regardless of which drive it is.

Any ideas?

I was mapping 4 or 5 drives at logon, so I took the /yes switch out, and it paused at an attempt to net use z: saying it was already connected. It then said that it was mapped to the logon directory of the Win2K server. I mapped to lower drive letters and all now seems OK. I guess the reason other drives failed to map was that they were further on in the script, and when the script failed, so did they.

I'm kinda new to this Windows 2000 thing, is there anything else I should look for, I'm assuming this is normal behaviour, but none of the references I have been using mentioned it.

Any wisdom would be appreciated!

How did you get the WIN95/98 connection to work on login. Any problem filling in the LOGIN.BAT file under policies? Mine doesn't see it at all!! Thanks...

It's not ideal, but since in this case there are not too many users, each has a seperate login script. This is because some are Win95 and don't recognise some of the variables that work with Win98 and at the moment I don't have time to sort it out. All the scripts are in a directory available to all and map to the users home directories directly. Thus user joe_bloggs has a login script joe_bloggs.bat and a home directory \\joe_bloggs. I know it's not very elegant but it works and I'll sort it out sometime!

I hope this helps, if not feel free to ask some more.
