I keep getting this error. I've updated the computers to WinFax PRO 10.04 (Don't ask me why, my employers love that software).

Cannot connect to WinFax Host Station called Amh1. make sure an account has been created for you on the host station (using the same name/password used to login on your client station).

I've tried internet solutions, nothing. What can I do to make this work?!

What the error is, I don't know, but format c: can fix it.

Little more info please. Structure of network and are you trying to use one machine for faxing and all others as clients?

Is AMH1 a server on your net or is it a workstation?

Can you ping by name?
Can you ping by IP?

Amh1 is a workstation. This is a Windows 2000 network. There is no central server, but all the computers show up on the network.

I can ping the computer by name, and by IP.

The fax machine is connected to a computer configured as WinFax Fax Sharing Host. The rest of the computers are setup to connect to Amh1 as WinFax FaxSharing Clients.

This is not an isolated issue, as I see many people have encountered it.

Thanks for any help.

hi Alan,
the answer at your problem is add user on local mashin that you call Amh1.
This user MUST have the same account that you use to log in into you PC and the same password!

Actually, I no longer work for the company, but I did get it figured out. The settings had gone corrupt. A complete re-install of the host software, and all client software, followed by reboots did solve it.

But I have a much easier solution:

DON'T USE WINFAX!!!!!!
