LaserJet 1200 on Win 98 Driver Errors

The LaserJet 1200 (connected with parallel) used to be connected to an XP machine and worked fine. The XP machine now has a new printer and the laserJet 1200 has been moved to a Win98 machine. I have installed the 98 drivers: PS, PCL5 and PCL6 but none of these worked. I have also tried the general windows 98 driver for laserjet 4 but this also did not work.

I have so far not been able to make it print correctly. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with a laserJet 1200 on a 98 machine?
