Larger fonts in the Command Prompt (DOS) window?

In Windows Millennium I had quite an assortment of available font sizes, both TrueType and Bit Map. Now that displays with higher resolutions are available, I need to make the command line interface (CLI) known as the Command Prompt (or "DOS") window larger too. For Win2000 and WinXP I have been using the "raster fonts" but even with the largest fonts the screen is still quite small on the larger resolutions. I still have legacy DOS applications, so I can't just stop using it, nor do I like the full-screen mode mentioned here thread96-92520 where you switch modes with Alt-Enter.

Here are the larger sizes available:

Raster Fonts:
10x16 Me (a lousy font, hard on the eyes)
10x18 Me, 2000, XP
10x20 Me
11x18 Me
12x16 Me, 2000, XP
12x20 Me
13x22 Me
16x12 2000, XP

Lucida Console only in 2000 & XP: (bold fonts 1 pixel wider)
11x18
12x20
14x24
17x28
22x36
43x72

Is there any difference, advantage or disadvantage to using the Lucida Console fonts? Apparently Microsoft is not adding to the Raster fonts, so it looks like the only solution available.

It looks like Lucida Console fonts are the future. Here are some appropriate settings for larger Command Prompt (DOS) windows for different screen resolutions:

800x600 ..... Raster font okay, 10x18 pixels per character
1024x768 .... Lucida Console font 12x20
1280x1024 ... Lucida Console font 14x24
1600x1200 ... Lucida Console font 17x28

If i right click on the programam icon, Font, i have Lucida Console Font 12x20 and 13x22. But if i open command prompt, right click on title bar, properties, the max size is 10x18. Changing the icon´s properties don´t change anything. It inherited properties from what is configured on Command Prompt.Properties How can i change this ?
Thank You !

In the window's properties, Font tab, in the center there should be a list box that allows you to switch between TT Lucida Console and Raster Fonts. Make sure you click on TT Lucida Console. Once you do that, does the upper area display a list of 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 28, 36, 72? (That's what my computer here at home displays.) The number 20 is the one for 12x20. My computer doesn't have 13x22 as a listed default, but it can be entered at the top of the list as a custom setting "22".
