Large Storage Attachment

I am looking for any information regarding the use of large hard drives with Solaris 2.8. I am currently trying to setup a JBOD of 75GB IBM hard drives, however "format" is unable to determine the drive type and when I enter the Cylinder/Heads/Sector info the drive size comes up as 8GB.

Has anyone had any experience in dealing with this type of a setup? Any suggestions?

You will have to edit the file format.dat for your Os to recognize the IBM drive.
You should be able to find the info to add in format.dat in the manual that came with the drive or by going to sunsolve.com.

Unfortunately I have already done that, and that is how I have been able to see the drive as an 8GB drive. I have all of the drive specs from IBM and it is not working.

Are there any known issue with using large drives in Solaris 2.8?
