Hello,

I am looking to purchase an 18" LCD monitor. I need some input on how LCDs are able to handle games, movies, etc... If there is any one with an LCD that plays games such as quake 3 could you please give your recomendations as to what I should upgrade to and what will be able to keep up with fast paced games (if any)?

Thanks in advance,

Brad

Go here and search for the 181t model it comes up with a selection of pictures choose the monitor picture then scroll down and clcil the 181t its on the right a few piccys down, this then gives you the spec.
Hope this helps,

Brad,

you want to check out Viewsonic too
their VX model puumps out 600:1 contrast with 25ms response time, where their Pro series puts up 300:1 with 30ms response time on 21" LCD

Before you buy an LCD Monitor find out what the return policy is. For instance do they guarantee 100% or the pixels to work? How many have to be bad before the monitor can be returned how long is the warranty etc. If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.

Hello,

Thanks to all that responded. This is just an update on what it is that I decided to do. I have decided to wait until lcds have reached a little more maturity. For right now I am just going to my work on the couch (as done in previous years). Thanks to everyone who responded!!!

Brad

ps. Both the viewsonic and the samsung looked excellent!

my friend got a viewosonic vp201mb for his birthday from his wife, he is going to test out the DVD on it, games work great on it
