Hello...I have read the Welcomebacks wonderful posting "laptop just dropped dead". I have tried all suggestions in that posting, but my laptop is still not booting.

Specs:
Compaq Presario 1200xl
AMD K6 2
no additional memory...just 32 meg nonremovable integrated memory
all other parts standard...nothing added

Symptoms:
Didn't die while on...just wouldn't boot one day.
when plugged in, all led lights come on
no display at all, even with external monitor
fan works,
cpu heats up,
floppy accessed, but with no disk it just sits and tries to access a disk
HDD seems to be spinning when floppy unplugged.

Any ideas?

Turn it off, unplug the power from the wall, and remove the battery. Leave the battery out for about 1 minute. Replace battery and plug power back in, try again. COuld be in suspend mode. Thanks, Todd
When in doubt, kick 'er in the guts

I should have mentioned...I don't have a battery...long story
I'm using ac power only.
Also, I forgot to mention there are no beeps at all at startup
