I'm using a Dell vostro 1500 w/ what I believe is a nVidia setup of some kind with the video. Here's my problem.

Running an External Acer 223w on VGA it works fine. The monitor is picked up. However when I plug the VGA into the DVI-D adapter and plug it into the monitor. It goes to standby on the monitor and windows nor the intel drivers find the monitor.
Below is a C&P of graphics information

Anyone have any idea?

# DVI-D (digital only)
# DVI-A (analog only)
# DVI-I (integrated, digital & analog)

source: Digital Visual Interface

with that cleared up, my suggestion would be to read the manual of the display, and find out if the DVD-x plug is even hooked up to the ANALOG input or if it is a PURE digital port...

if it is DIGITAL then you will be out of luck attaching a VGA (ANALOG) signal per adapter to it...
