Can I replace my laptop video card simply, i.e., "pop in and out" like on a desktop?

As far as I'm aware, the only notebook that can be upgrade is the Dell Inspiron series from 8100 upwards, from the GeForce2 GO to the GeForce4 Go.
Any other laptops and I'm afraid you're stuck.
Plus there's no video expansion cards available for laptops, so the only way to add a 3d accelerator is via a expansion or docking station, but then you loose the portable element.
This has been a constant annoyance to me with laptops that I've had over the years.
What laptop have you got (model, manufacturer, configuration etc.)?
Ah well.
All the best,
G
