Laptop serial port

I am ready to by a new laptop but all the ones I have looked at do no have a serial port. Which I use for programming. Are serial ports availble on new laptops or are there adapters? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I've used several of the compaqs just a little bit used which have the com port. You don't need the latest greateds to communicate with dumb switches.
