Hi All,

I have a Dell Inspiron with Win XP and my problem just started recently. Just before the splash screen for Windows login, a black square about 1" x 1" appears in the middle of the screen. It stays there until I change the screen resolution (no matter where I left it) and change it back (1280 X 1024) it's fine. Next time I reboot...same thing. Nothing special happened when the problem started...no new software and no damage to the screen. Any suggestions welcome!

call Dell, they should be able to help you out. Otherwise try new graphics card drivers, flash the bios.
