I recently upgraded to SBS 4.5, and now two laptop clients do not run the logon script after submitting their passwords. I get the "No domain server was available..." message, but the clients get logged on anyway. They still have access to Outlook 97 and are connected to the server. Apparently, since the script doesn't run, they can't be upgraded to Outlook 2000 and IE5. I checked the user profile, and according to the profile, they should be running the "small business server\user.bat" script. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Try adding the Domain Controller IP address to the lmhosts file on each laptop to determine if it a name resolution problem.
ex:
192.168.0.1 myserver #pre #dom:mydom

I am assuming IP as the protocol.

Have the laptops changed in configuration at all...what OS are they running?

dxd
What dxd said is exactly what I would try. I just want to add that to test this quickly, after you edit your lmhosts in %systemroot%\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\ to inlcude the line he said to add, go to a cmd prompt. Type nbtstat -R (must be capital) then type nbtstat -c. This will show you your netbios entries (where the clients look for domain controller locations.) you should see an entry like:
Name Type Host Address Life [sec]
DOMAIN <1C> GROUP 192.210.100.3 -1
If you see that entry, the try logging again (don't have to reboot, just login again.) If you do not, then the client doesn't know where the domain controller is and you can start your troubleshooting there.
