Can I install a Laptop HDD into my desktop without damaging the Laptops drive???

The only things that site doesn't show is that you may need a jumper for Master or Slave settings, where it goes on the drive [from the drive maker], and the rails some kits have for mounting the drive. I use 2 such kits for cloning notebook drives.

Thanks...that's what I needed to know.

Another option is an external housing with a usb interface.
It works fine with me and no need to think about master/slave configuration or brackets.
