Laptop clients generating errors

Hi all... I just started tracking laptops (added the laptop OU) with SMS and have been generating a lot of errors in SMS_Client_Config_Manager. Basically, "Cannot find machine <laptop> on the network. The operating system reported error 53"
Now, I know the error is being generated because the laptop aren't available for SMS. How can I stop SMS from checking for the laptops, but keep the laptops in my collections?
I have AD System Discovery turned-on only. Thanks.

You're issue lies somewhere else, you should not get any errors when machines are not available, unless you are trying to force something to a specific single machine. Due tothe fact that Discovery is DISCOVERY....not Reconsolidation. It can not discover what is not there.

The only thing you will see is that after i think 40 days, without a sms DDR, they will be marked as Obsolete.

error 53 = Network Path Not Found

Are you saying they arent on the network but you want them to stay in sms?

If they are on the network and your getting that error make sure file and print sharing are enabled, its probably the admin$ share.
