I am trying to write a program in QBasic (checkers) and play it between two computers. Any ideas?
 
See OUT command and OPEN command to open ports in QB's help. My suggestion is use QB4.5 or QB7.1(also known as PDS) and not 1.1/GW Basic
 
Do you have a network between these computers?
Some Windows thing may be?

The clumzy (but easy to implement) way is to use shared (network) folder and exchange messages via text files.

Or you should somehow talk to network...
there were a thread, kind of "Is it possible to write ICQ in QB", read it. It has a link in the end (I haven't tried it, though).
