I recently just installed Windows 2000 Pro on the computer I most often use at my business office. I'm having problems with other computers connecting to me through a Local Area Network. When I click on my computer from Network Neighborhood, and i receive one of two messages. The first one tells me I must supply a password to connect to \IPC$. The other one tells me that it doesn't have permission to access resource. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, I appreciate your replies. Thank you!

You need to activate the guest account. It will allow others to connect to your PC. Go to the administrative tools folder. Computer management then users and groups. Go to users then right click on guest account and go to properties. then uncheck account is disabled. this should take care of your problem.

Yeah, that worked! Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your help.
