I have troubles with my LAN not sure if this is the best place to put this but could do with some help.

I am able to link the pc's together through TCP/IP but am having troubles with 1 pc over IPX.

The PC with the problem does have a different network card to the others and I was wondering if that was the problem. But I conected the other network card to the PC and it still didn't work.

Thank you

Have the cabling for the PC that is giving the problem checked from end to end. Where it goes into the PC to where it goes into the HUB/SWICTH.

Are they all connecting via IPX or are you trying to go to IPX from IP as this wont work without a gateway of some sort. If they are all on the same hub and ipx is on two or more pcs and one does not connect try removing it and readding it again also checking the encapsulation types. The different vendor may use different encapsulation or the client may be set up differently.

Make sure that the Ethernet Frame Type on each of the PC's is the same. You can't mix Ethernet 802.2 with Ethernet 802.3.

Good Luck!
