Laid off again...

Story of my life...first time I was laid off after 2 years in IT...then after 3,5...if my math is right my next job should get me at least 5! But WHEN...this is THE question.
NOW!
Is someone here from Philadelphia area? can tell me how is market nowadays?
Anything new and hot except outsourcing? LOL
I am so behind on IT news (was hiding in my cube thinking they might miss me...) LOL

I am in the philly area and it all depends on what your skills are.
Right now the market is bleak (excapt those with special skills) but it does look like there is some light in the future. I have notice more tech jobs in the paper but as always (like the job I am in now) they are grossely under paid. It is now a employer market and of course they want the best for the cheapest price. More and more of our jobs are going overseas, take for a example ATT is going to hire 18,000 before christmas but only 1/8 of those jobs will be in the states and nothing in our area.
So keep your ears to the grind stone - network with everybody you meet - kiss a lot of babies and before you know it someone will get you a job in this field.

They are out there, my company just hired 2 programmers in the past month ( of course at poverty wages) but its a job.
