I am using crystal 8 and printing to a label printer(Dymo label writer). It uses a continous roll of labels and not a sheet of labels. The first label prints fine but it starts creeping a little lower on the following labels until the printer times out(Typically after the fifth label).

Can anyone suggest any ajustments that might help? (i.e., change margins, lower height of labels, etc.) I am using the user defined label size(Provided by label manufacturer).

Thanks,

John

Are you using the most current printer driver for this printer? Is the paper size (not the label size) correct? Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

Check to see if there is a blank line or 'garbage' characters before the first or after the last data line of your label.

Hi,

I'm facing the same problem with printing labels using formfeed continuous labels with an Epson dotmatrix printer LQ1170. The first 30 or so labels prints fine but the subsequent labels have this "creeping down" problem and subsequently the alignment runs. Any suggestions?

Similarly, I have a PO form (done with CR7) that has this problem, i.e. It has a total of 11 pages, after the 4th page the alignment runs. The first 4 pages no problem. Any help here?

Any chance there is a label that "grows" and throws off the alignment at that point? Is the creeping consistent? Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

The creeping is quite consistent i.e. after 30 or so labels, the alignment runs. The positions of the texts and fields are fixed. However I do suppress the fields if the fields are blank. Could this be the problem?

It shouldn't, but I would try shutting that feature off and seeing if it has any effect.

I have never tried to print to a label printer. In Printer - Setup, what is your paper size? Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

I'm using a customised paper size. There are 2 labels before a perforation (10 labels = to 8 1/2 x 11 fanfold paper size) When set to normal fanfold paper size, creeping begins after 3 pages. If set to customised paper size, approximately 30 labels before alignment runs.

I've tried measurement done in cm and inch without solving the above problem.

You have a printer driver for this label printer that allows custom paper size?
What is the custom paper size you are using?

Does the label size and spacing added up for on one page add up to exactly the printable area (minus top/bottom margin)?

Ken,
I will get back to you on the exact measurement as I left my label format and actual label paper at work. FYI I have tried manipulating the default setting for the non-printable area (via the printer setting) but still no progress!
