L700E with 9840A fc

Hi All,
I have an L700E with 1x 9840A fibre drive installed.
When the unit comes up, the main screen shows the 9840 status as "configuring".
Will not let me mount / unmount to the drive from diags.
Tried the same drive in a second L700E with the same code (3.09.00) and it worked fine.
The drive also bench tests ok.

Any ideas?

Tim, are you powering up the 9840 with the fibre connected? Try unplugging the fibre until the library is inited and then plug the fibre in.

Hi Andy,
no fibre connected...
Tried a 9940A drive, and it works fine.
I have to ship the libraries in the morning, but next L700 I have here I"ll play with it some more.

Hey Tim, You may have a problem with the tray that the drive is on. The wires at the serial connection have a tendancy to break right at the connector pin. Have a good one!
