L40 authorization key error

Hello,
we have a L40 library. After restart we get an error on
the operation panel "authorization key"
error 4481 The personality modul is not installed.

Have someone a manual for the L40.

How can we fix this problem.

Do you have the 9-pin dongle plugged into the back?

Thank you for this fast reply. Yes the dongle is pluged in.

check the connector pins, reseat the dongle if pins look good. if that doesn't work get another dongle. still a no go i would say replace the mpc card.

How do I install the firmware for a StorageTek L180 tape library? Need documentation. Are there tool set.

You need to get a personality module. Because the L40 can be configured for 20 cells or 40 cells configuration. Without this key the machine wont work.

Error 4481 Means the key is not installed. Module cannot me detected. Software thinks its missing. Attch module and reset library
