Just what exactly does this do? The installation guide for IP phones says that for IP office this setting should be set to L2Q=2 (off). Why? and what does it do? Is this different than the QoS 802.1Q setting? or have anything to do with VLANs?

Thanks

L2Q stands for layer 2 quality wich seems to be a term used by Avaya only.
This is a parameter used in a VLAN environment but i'm not a specialist.
If you start reading this (
)and then the links in if and youre not lost somewere ( i am )then you can tell me where it is used for, i always set L2Q to disabled wich works fine.

ok, so do you use VLANs in any of your IP installations? I do, and I have mine set to L2Q=1, as that's what the docs had shown. But now, reading further, Avaya recommends this be set to L2Q=2 for IP offices only.

Would having this L2Q setting enabled cause any problems?
