Hi all!

I wonder if anyone can help me on this as it's driving me nuts!

I have replaced the main KXTD181 analogue line board in our 1232 with a KXTD281E BRI line card. There were several reasons for doing this, but two of the main ones were so as to get CLIP (caller ID) and DDI.

I have had CLIP enabled on the line, but incoming calls do not show the CLIP on an extension when ringing.

I've made sure that the calling party isn't witholding their number, etc, but no joy. Anyone have any ideas?

The system doesn't seem to allow for the programming of DDI settings either (the programming codes don't exist on this unit).

Has anyone had any experience with a version 2 unit and CLIP / DDI? Any help greatly appreciated!

Update the software and it will give you the correct options

Thanks, but that isn't my question. I know that I can upgrade the unit to a version 4 EPROM, but I want to know if anyone has managed to get these options to work on a version 2 box. Updating the motherboard can only be done at an additional cost!

i don't think ver 2 supported clip or clid!

Okay, fair enough. Thanks for the info both of you. I'll have to see about upgrading the box then!

hey a note we don't have bri available over here in
the us of a but you can bet that if the options that you
are looking for do not show up in your programing utility
then you can bet that it is not supported!!

Didn't realise BRI wasn't available over there. Thanks again for the info. I've put an enquiry into Panasonic support to see what they say about a chip upgrade.

Hi, send me backup of your program so I can give you a solution.Bay Damir

i cant say why the clip is not working if you can get your hands on a isdn modem with software this will tell you if it is being sent by your supplier.
as for the ddi it is on the ver 2 however you need the ver 2 doss software to programe... the ddi location on the ver3 software lets you program the ddi and save them but when you reload the system they are gone again (useing the v2 software go to
station settings 2
you will see the list of exts & names on screen with a space before each... this space is listed on screen as msn no:
place your ddi here only 1 ddi to each ext & you cannot seta ddi to a grp
if you need ddi to a grp point ddi to a ext then forward the ext all calls to the grp

hope this helps a bit
