Thanks to rivet for thread936-1225252, but my boss changed his mind back then and I am only now getting around to implementing this. When I try to program the first step, either using Location 106, or my software, I am only given 4 choices instead of 6, RING and UCD are not offered - and I believe that RING is the one that I would need. Any ideas as to why they aren't displayed?

Step 2 says to use location 131, but that doesn't work and is listed in my programming manual as a Message Waiting Lamp assignment. Location 602 seems to be the winner with Extension Group Assignment, but I'm not 100% sure that extension groups and "hunting" groups are the same thing.

Step 3, the infamous 813, does not show any of the E-groups, only the pagers and modems... However, my programming manual says the "default" for E-Group1 is 191, but it doesn't seem to be activated.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!!

what country are you in the software is not the same in the usa as the eurozone!!

I'm in the USA, but the phone system itself (going through the lcd screens) doesn't seem to have those 2 options.

in the usa it pgm 106 to for hunting type!!

Yes, 106 is the hunting type, but everything I have read, including my programming guide say there should be 6 options for hunting type, I only have 4. RING and UCD are never displayed.

arrow down or keep hitting select if you don't see those other options you must have a real early rev like a -0

and to answer your other question ?
hunting and ext groups are different

a Hunting group is used to direct calls from a outside no: through a group of exts in order to use these the call must first arrive at the group no:ie 190

an extension grp is used for grouping a number of extentions togeather ie if ext 101,102,103,104 were in a ext grp then you would just ring 101 the call would would move on if unanswered or bust to the next and so on. it is mostly used to get the v/mail ports to alternate so the first V/mail port doesnt always get the 1st call

Hmm, my reply to this post seems to have gotten lost, but I had asked what I can do if my rev is "really low" - is this something that I can upgrade with a flash or something? Also, even though it does not display RING or UCD, I can't figure out why it does have the option for hunting groups in 106, but I can't assign an extension to a hunting group with 813...?

Well, I don't see a rev anywhere, but the serial number starts with 5H and there is no 1A in it.

The ROM version according to my programmer is p101a50508b.

sounds like a -0 needs cpu and eprom and srams
not worth the trouble. you can give that p101a50508b
info to communicator tel and they will tell you for sure
what your upgrade options are

P101A should upgrade to P101E without much difficulty. Are the RAM chips socketed or soldered? If socketed, are they as long as the sockets they're in or a bit shorter? (AKA: 28 pin RAM in a 32 pin socket?)

I can email you rom images if you need them.

They are socketed. I was told by 2 different vendors that I could not upgrade because the only chips that my board would accept (-1's) are no longer available...

Plus, I guess it is no longer a concern because our Voiceworks 16 system that was doing the auto attendent decided it didn't want to transfer calls correctly anymore so we are answering the phone by hand now :(
