Does anyone know if the KX-TDA50 with a TVS50 can do fax detection? I have a customer whose second line is also their fax line. The fax machine is hooked up as an analog ext. But since their line 1 rolls over to line 2 they can't distinguish between a voice call and a fax call.

yes the tva will detect fax on line 2 and route the call to said slt fax ext if it answers the line it won't work if that line is routed to an ICD group....you realize also that if for some reason you intercept a cng tone on an incoming call you can blind transfer that call to the fax ext....

So the vmail would have to answer the line first? How do I tell it where to ring if its a voice call? Oh and its a TVS75. Just noticed I put the wrong one.

you have to route to the tvs, create an AA but just have a timeout destination if you don't want caller dial options. In here you can have Fax detect and enter a destination.

and then you go to fax detection dropdown and there you can define up to 2 fax ext's so the voicemail answers
if a cng tone is present it will try primary ext or will
no answer to 2nd if defined done if it's a voicecall
the call will be handled how you have your custom dialing menu defined and then yes a no dtmf responce could be then routed to ext or group if available....

Thanks very much. Also do you know how to get rid of the alarm light on the TDA50?

yep alt-u ,alt-L ,alt-m ,alt-r,alt-c
if you still have a alarm then alt-j ,alt-r,alt-c

haha cwc3 i might just keep checking these forums to see your responses.

Chango if you are confused you do these alt commands with the TDA programming tool open.
Otherwise go to Utility>Error Log
You will then be able to figure out the rest i would hope.

If you have to ask how to reset alarms you need to
work at burger king!!

I didn't see the error log when I was logged. I will look again when I connect to it. Thanks everyone.
