Have recently installed a KX-TDA15 system in UK. Software is basically as default on the maintenance console. Has 2 port ISDN card (3280/3283). ISDN2e installed line giving two lines simultaneously. However, from outside only every other call inbound is picked up. Every other call gives a no answer signal on the callers end. Cannot seem to work this out. Is it a software / system fault or is it more likely the actual lines. Bt charge £200+ to check the lines out if they are found to be OK. Hence, trying to make sure that I had not missed something !

what does you vendor have to say about the problem?

a couple of things you should check.
1 use the bri auto config tool this will tell you what way the lines are setup.
2. make sure they are setup (pp)point to point)
3. make sure the line card is set as point to point.not point to multi point.
4. make sure you have set network type as uk isdn not euro isdn.
5. if only 1 phone ringing make sure call waiting is switched on.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Just to let you know. Got to the bottom of this. BT (in UK)had, by mistake, installed 2 lots of ISDN2e (therefore giving 4 channels . The installation according to the order was for 1 x ISDN2e (i.e. 2 channels). BT exchange uses alternate sequencing 1-3-2-4, hence alternate calls were not being presented (on 3 and 4). 3 and 4 (which should not exist in any case) have now been switched to OUS (out of service) and everything is fine. Problem originated from installation and the order being processed incorrectly. BT franchise out their BT Local Business ordering system. Even the BT engineer I spoke to complained about the amount of mistakes. If you want a job doing well, do it yourself... Thanks for posts ... hope this may help someone else in future

yes, the Carriers in Aust do the same sort of thing to me all the time I don,t think that the training of Carrier staff these days is of the standard it used to be.
