Hi,

We need your advice for the problem we faced as below ;

PROBLEM DESCRIPTIONS
We have installed MSG-4 Card over OPB-3 Card and others, LCOT8 for CO line, DLC16 for extensions. Auto Attendant messages have been configured accordingly.

Found out that, when a caller reach to our auto attendant and dial 0 for operator assistance as per messages configured and they refuse to continue or disconnect the line, our auto attendant (MSG-4) is still active and extensions/operator still keeps on ringing. We will get engage sound if we try to answer the phone.

In brief, our AA (MSG-4) not detecting the caller has been disconnecting the line and continue to reach extensions and give engage sounds when trying to answer.

We also would like to hear if we have missed some configurations or supposed another hardware needed to solve this. Please let us know if you need any other further details. Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks & Regards,
Elizam

If you have analogue lines you will need cpc or reverse voltage to let the system know the call is gone

If your telephone line provider can't supply this you can bus units for the line to detect the call is gone and generate cpc signal

Thanks for the info. Yes, we are using analog lines. I would like to know how this CPC generator works, at which point should i install the CPC generator?

Caller > LCOT8 > MSG-4 > DLC16 > Extensions

Thank you for your help.

Still i don't get why with the MSG-4 / Auto Attendant is active, it happens.

Let say we do not use this AA feature, direct line from LCOT (CO Line) > DLC (Ext) everything is fine. When caller disconnect the line, no extended ringing or no continuous ringing on the extension..

Some can make it it clear??

Thank You Very Much!

Regards,
Elizam

because when the aa /disa answers the call the call is answered and the system needs to know when the call is finnished so it can hangup without cutting off calls

if the AA/disa is off, when you call in the call is not answered and will stop ringing when the caller hangs up and the exchange stops sending ring generated pulses of 90-100v ac

Thank you so much for the details! [wiggle]

Hi,

Is there any ways rather than using this 3rd party solutions (install a CPC generator), because service provider also unable to provide us a CPC signal.

There is no settings inside the DISA to do this?

Only way is to setup message queuing on a group for the operator and have a message with dial 1 to continue holding 2 to leave a message on operators phone and if they do not dial anything this time the queue will Hang up. If they dial 1 you set it to go to the ring group again. It will affect first call in answering because the call is at the back of the queue unless you dial 1 and it puts it in to a different group with priority answer

System needs to be v5 for all this to work
