kx-td816 mounting

Is the kx-td816 sensitive to how it is mounted? for example does it have to be mounted on wall straight up an down, or can it be mounted sideways? I am looking to minimize the footprint on the wall where space is limited. Thanks.

I would not recommend mounting it sideways because the circuits are cooled by convection (air heats inside the cabinet, rises and exits out the vents on top, therefore creating a vacuum and drawing cool air in from the bottom).
