Any ROM collectors out there?

I started with a stock -6 US cabinet.

I think the 1232 cabinet has alternate, maybe regional/international etc, firmware that supports features the US versions do not.

One of them is up to 2 td174x 16SLT card, and 3 SLT MW light cards. Based on how hard it is to find the 174x cards, maybe these are only used in certain regions?

So I found a P271A version that does support the SLT card (and an EXT8 while i wait for a second 174x), and the cabinet is working fine with 40 analog and 24 digital lines.

I notice the MW functions are completely missing, as well as caller ID. (caller Id not that big of a deal)

So maybe someone has other versions that might support SLT cards and MW cards?

Well it does verify that there are other firmware versions, as the box I`m working on has the P271A/272A version running (which I downloaded and burned on 27C080 proms)

With more research I've determined that the firmware i am using was apparently used in russia and new zealand, but I know the 174x cards were also used elsewhere.

There is also apparently newer versions of the RU firmware (P271I) but so far I cannot find it for download. Not sure if it supports message waiting lights and TD174x, which is my goal

The td174x does indeed support message waiting lights.

Otherwise there would be no need for it to support 3 td194 message waiting light cards as they do 16 analog phones each so the only way to get 48 analog lines is with 2 174x cards and the 16 in the 1232 base.

Good news is I did indeed find a version of firmware that supports the 174x and message waiting (p271D or higher). Only downside is no caller ID support (I guess caller Id wasn’t used in russia or wasn’t compatible with the North American standard). But I can live without caller ID.

There is likely a version that does support it, likely from NZ or UK but I’m not going to keep erasing and reprogramming EPROMS, I’m happy to have something that works and also I have a version of Windows software that supports that ROM version.

My next challenge is finding the firmware update for the Kx-tva50 voicemail unit (to upgrade to V2.0)

Isnt the 194 card the message waiting card that sits on a 174? Ill dig around see if i have some tva firmware

It’s an external stand alone card, even has an AC plug (but you can daisy chain from the 1st to 2 others) and it works either with the 16 analog lines built in the unit, analog lines from the 174x and analog lines from the EXT, in just about any combination you want.

One card does 16 slt phone message lights but you don’t need to use all 16.

If you had something on the TVA it would be greatly appreciated.

I think that will work, TVA was USA version, TVM elsewhere. But I think the hardware is the same and firmware should be interchangeable

Thanks I got the download.

But I think thats the TVM200, and it also looks like the old version (.10)?
