I recently swapped out my computers motherboard, I installed an Asus a8n32-sli deluxe. I have a konica minolta 1350w laser printer and I can not get it to work with the new motherboard. I get a printer mismatch/communication error. I am trying to use the usb port to connect. The printer uses usb ver 1.0 and the motherboard is usb 2.0 but claims backword compatability.
I have used the disk that came with the computer and downloaded the drivers from Konica. Neither works. The odd thing is the printer worked for about a week after the swap and then started saying communication error.
Is there something in the bios I should check? Is there a chance the USB cord is bad? Does it sound like the printer bit the dust? Other USB devices work fine in the ports so I doubt it is a bad usb port on the motherboard.

Disconnect all USB devices except the printer.
If no luck, then try a different USB cord to connect the printer.
If no luck, then see if the printer works on another system. If not, then it's probably toast.

Thanks for the advice! I unplugged the printer power and it installed perfectly after I plugged it back in! I don't know why I needed to power it down but it worked.

You're welcome.
Glad that you were able to fix the problem.
