Knowing if its FLASH or not in Dreamweaver 3

I'm looking for the best way to have a flash movie placed in an HTML<br>
Page and know if the browser has the plugin or not.<br>

If the browser has the plugin it will play the movie. If it does not I<br>
want it to just display a .GIF or .JPG file in its place.<br>
<br>
I've see some options in dreamweaver but it seems to me that one of the<br>
options won't work in one ofthe browsers? I may have misinterpreted it.<br>
<br>
Any recommendations?<br>
