Kmode exception not handled

Sometimes, when i'm using the internet, i suddenly get the blue screen of death, saying: Kmode exception not handled, begining physical memory dump. what does this mean?
i have Win2000 Pro with SP2 (i didn't get this problem b4 SP2), and i dial up to the internet. any help is appreciated...

well i found an updated driver for my modem, and downloaded it. It seems to be working better now...
