Does anyone know how to force a solaris 2.7 box to boot up and not come up to x windows. This thing is just going to sit on a terminal server and it's kind of a pain when x is running. Thanks.

Mike

In /etc/rc2.d change the file S99dtlogin to s99dtlogin. So next time it won't start xwindows. If you need it later just change it back to S99dtlogin.Otherwise you can delete dtlogin file from init.d dir for permenetly disbaling xwindows. If you choose the last step xwindows won't start in any run levels.

Hi ,

U can disable login server CDE startup by typing the following command:
/usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -d
This command disables CDE on next boot.

I hope u find it helpful.
