Killer Trunks

Sounds like some bright red Speedos for Michael Moore - but actually I'm sorting through a traffic study on a 3300 Mxe and I'm seeing a bunch of BBBB's after some runks numbers (PRI two way trunks) and I understand that I'm showing a low peg out while still posting a mid-size Usage Out erlang - but for the life of me I can't figure out what's causing it. Documentation calls these "killer trunks". I've got 4 links, 92 trunks, and I'm seeing a smattering on my hourly reports, on different scattered trunks, usually within the first two links - I'm not carrying that much traffic yet. I don't have any XXXX's posted. Documentation goes on to say that there could be a problem accessing the trunk, but where I work, people scream if they can't get out or call in and I haven't heard boo.
Appreciate any help -

Marty

We see those frequently and have learned to ignore them. Enter the maint command "congestion" and see if your PBX is experiencing any congestion (blocked calls).

If you're using Terminal hunt in your trunk group, change it to circular.

My experience has been that Mitels have always had a problem handling glare whenever you use terminal mode hunt. Unless the trunk group is extremely busy, changing to circular mode may solve this.

Otherwise, unless your system is reporting congestion and/or users are complaining, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

Hadn't thought about glare - good thought. I've flipped it over to circular and I'll monitor. Good advice, I'll sleep well tonight -

Thanks,
Marty
