Hi,

Last night you answered my question about how to paste an image in another program without having the background around it. I am doing the image on a transparent background but when I save it as a gif and insert it into Power Point I lose the feathering around the edge. Is there a way to keep this?

I think you may be running into the limitations of the gif format which has a limited gamut. Unfortunately, no other format that I know of preserves a trandparent background.

Okay, thanks. Guess I'll have to figure out something else to do with this pict.

Have you tried setting a 'matte' colour for your gif? This is an option in the gif setting dialog and may resolve your problem. Set the matte colour to the most prevalant colour on the background of your powerpoint presentation.

Also Try : Save for Web > PNG-24. It preserves transparency and may give you better results than using a gif.

Thanks Dweezel!

As I readily admit I am an amateur at this. When I was saving the file as a gif I saw the matte option and didn't know what it was for. I'll try that and see what happens.
