Keying Hair with really bad spill

hi, I'm working on a high definition project for a major electronics company, and I've been dealing with keying the on camera talent over a green screen. Unfortunately the talent's hair is a bright blondish-red and the green spill just sticks to it like mad. I've gotten a very clean key for everything but the hair, and I've applied spill suppressor to the hair, but it doesn't budge. It's like a toxic green. I'm hoping we won't have to take it to an inferno to make it right. If anyone has any tips, I'd appreciate it greatly. Oh, I've been using the production bundle key in after effects, so if anyone knows whether an outside keying plugin like ultimatte or something like that would work better that could be helpful as well. complex keys are hard to pull in ae. commotion does a much better job. but if you have to use, use the primatte plugin. that thing rocks. i use it all the time. blonde hair on green screen is hard! good luck.

I highly suggest the DvMatte plugin from the folks at

This plugin worked miracles for me that would have otherwise been re-shoots. I tried the PriMatte keyer and it could not handle my spill problems. My footage was shot in a metal building that reflected green everywhere. Needless to say I had a super spill problem and nothing would work until someone put me onto the DvMatte keyer. It kills all spill, ALL SPILL! The plugin is made for DV footage. Check out the website and look at the sample of the character lying on a green table and how the plugin keyed the green and saved the hair.
