Keybuild - How Long??

I am running Arcserve 2000. I am getting some errors in my database so I acquired document: 1521 and decided to run Keybuild on my astpsdat database. that was early yesterday, today it is still chugging along. How long does this take to run!!! Because of these problems with Arcserve I have gone a week without a completed backup >:-<

What happened with your keybuild process? I'm running Arcserve 2000 on a W2k server. I've been having database problems where the backup jobs are not writing to it. After running dbcheck on the databases I recieved an error while running dbcheck on the astpsdat database. It couldn't generate any summary report for me. So I started running keybuild. It's been running for 7 hours now. How long did it take? Did it fix your database problems? HELP!

I had keybuild run for a LONG (at least 7 hours) time and ended up stopping it before it finished. My database was only about 3GB. I ended up reinititalizing the astpsdat database only and set a schedule to perform the dbcheck on it once per week and the dbfix every other week. This seemed to help. Even on this regular schedule, it still takes around 2 hours to perform the dbcheck.

I think it took a day 1/2 to run the Keybuild, BarbieGirl has the right idea to schedule a dbcheck and a dbfix. I will not run another keybuild unless I have to.

Thank you all, I'll be scheduling those Dbchecks from now on! Do you remember how big your database was at that time for keybuild to run for a day and a half? Mine is about 4GB and it's still running. It's ran now for almost 18 hours now.
