- just another newboy in the Solaris area -
After installation of Solaris 2.6 on a SUN Enterprise 220R machine I cannot use the keyboard; pressing one key fills the screen with that character many times (as if I was holding the key down).
I have tried connecting different keyboards but no joy
Although the keyboard is not the original SUN keyboard it worked initialy.
During the boot process the SUN machine does not seem to find a KEYBCTRL file of some sort.

Configuration:
SUN e220R, - Belkin OmniView SUN adapter - Belkin Omnicube 4-port keyboard/mouse switch - AT keyboard and mouse.

Any help will be much appreciated

cd /usr/openwin/bin
# ./kbd_mode -a

hope this works fine

Thank you Kannan for your reply.
The problem was resolved after I found the appropriate patches for Solaris.
Before that I was unable to type in anything after boot, (as well as the script that you sent me).
Thanks again

FYI I have found that the same problem occurs when you build the server without booting of the
Operating Environment CD first. If you do this the problem will not occur at all!
