I have been having a problem for the past year or so with my keyboard. It happens about once a week. I will be typing, and all the sudden, it will not work. The mouse works, but the keyboard will not. The only keys that work when this happens are the 'control' 'alt' 'delete. None of the other keys work. If I log off and log back on, everything works again. I have tried reloading and rteinstalling the driver. That didnt help. Has anyone seen a similar problem before? At this point its just more of a nuisance than anything else and Im curious whats causing it. Thanks.

Is there anything you are doing (usually) when it dies - or has the machine been booted for a certain perios of time?
Wireless or wired? if wireless try changing the channel.
If USB look for conflicts in device manager - maybe move to another USB port?
Keyboards are so cheap - it may be easier to simply buy a new one.
I'm fresh out of suggestions.

Hi stduc.
No, I havent been able to find a common occurance between the incidents aside from me typing fast. But Im not that great a typist and burnign up the keyboard.
Its not using USB or wireless. I dont believe its a hardware issue.
Its really odd and I have never heard of this happening before.
Thanks for the input.

Your welcome - I guess you call always try Registry Mechanic - when it does fix things it's magic.

You could create a new profile to see if the problem follows the profile - if not then, it hints at registry corruption.

If I think of anything else I'll post again.
