Can you redefine the keyboard in p9? I found a reference to it in the help option..but what I see on my screen, and what it describes should be there...don't match. The help screen says there's supposed to be a "customize keyboard" option under the TOOLS menu...but there isn't such an option...only customize TOOLBARS.

Also...is there a keyboard combination (like control-d) to insert the current date into a field? I'm about to settle for EZ-MACRO to make database entry easier, but figured surely p9 will let you record and play macros. Heck, even PC-FILE (the old dos flat file dbf) could do THAT.

I've de-installed P9 (too many printing problems) so can't immediately check the keyboeard mapping thing - I'll re-install on a test PC over the next few days and check it.

On the current date / current time bit : if the field is define as a date/time field, the hitting the spacebar inserts the current date/time in the selected format. several presses may be required, depending on the input format selected.

You know...I keep hearing that p8 was the last GOOD incarnation of Paradox. You think maybe I should dump 9 and get 8? So far....I've had no problems with it. It prints ok for me...but to get anything done in p9...it's awfully unintuitive. But....dbase was a pain too, for those of us who are not programmers.

Paradox's help refers to the keyboard editor in WordPerfect and Corel Presentations. You can, however, create customized menus using ObjectPal, to include KeyPhysical events (e.g., Ctrl+X for cut).

Thanks to OGriofa for the auto-insert date tip.
